Course content and structure

 

Module Two involves 200 learning hours including input sessions, e-learning and directed or individual self study (reading, research and assignment preparation). The course will help you develop professionally by focusing on your own classroom practice. It will also help to deepen your understanding of language, skills and the principles underlying different methodologies and approaches.

Assessment


DELTA Module Two is internally assessed through a portfolio of coursework, including skills/systems observed lessons and theoretical background assignments. One assignment which includes a background essay, an observed lesson and a lesson evaluation is externally assessed by a Cambridge ESOL Examinations-approved visiting assessor. Another one is sent to Cambridge Assessment English for moderation purposes.

DELTA Module Two successful candidates receive a Certificate awarded by Cambridge Assessment English, part of the University of Cambridge. The information provided on the back of each certificate will outline the aims and content of the module. There are three grades: Pass, Pass with Merit, Pass with Distinction.

 

Candidates who achieve a Pass in the Language Systems and Skills Assignments submitted to Cambridge Assessment English and who have completed the coursework will be awarded a Pass in DELTA Module Two.

 

Candidates who have achieved a Pass with Merit in the Language Systems and Skills Assignments submitted to Cambridge Assessment English and who have achieved a Pass in the Professional Development Assignment and completed the coursework will be awarded a Pass with Merit.

 

Candidates who have achieved a Pass with Distinction in the Language Systems and Skills Assignments submitted to Cambridge Assessment English and who have achieved a Pass in the Professional Development Assignment and completed the coursework will be awarded a Pass with Distinction.
